To maintain a high-quality "garage" where mechanics and enthusiasts can trade with confidence, we rely on our community to help us flag suspicious activity. Any user can report a listing if it doesn't seem right.
Reasons to Report
You should report a listing or a seller if you encounter any of the following:
- Policy Violations: The listing is for a Prohibited Item (e.g., deployed airbags, hazardous fluids, or labor-only services).
- Stolen or Counterfeit Goods: You have reason to believe the part is stolen (tampered VINs) or is a counterfeit "knock-off" being sold as a genuine OEM brand.
- Deceptive Information: The listing uses "stock" photos instead of actual photos of the part, or the description is intentionally misleading about fitment.
- Suspicious Seller Behavior: A seller is asking for payment outside of the Motorepo app or is engaging in harassment.
How Motorepo Responds
Once a report is submitted, our team investigates the claim. Based on our findings:
- Listing Removal: We will remove any listing that violates our Guidelines or Terms of Service.
- Account Action: We may temporarily suspend or permanently ban sellers who repeatedly ignore our community standards.
- Buyer Accountability: Please note that wrongful or fraudulent reports (reporting a competitor or a seller without cause) are also violations and are subject to consequences outlined in our Buyer Protection policies.
Ensuring Fairness
Our goal is to ensure a fair, secure, and transparent marketplace. Reporting helps us keep the "stolen part" trade off our platform and ensures that every buyer gets exactly what they paid for.
